BOMAG Compactor Vibration Damper Technology
BOMAG road and soil compactors generate high-amplitude vibratory forces through the drum exciter system — this is the energy that compacts asphalt and soil. However, this vibration must be managed carefully so that only the desired amount reaches the ground while excess vibration is isolated from the frame, cab, and operator.
The primary BOMAG vibration damper is part 3115 2472 00, an anti-vibration mount providing broadband isolation across the compactor's drum operating frequency range (typically 33–67 Hz for BW series models). Working in conjunction with this, the 3115 1926 02 damper rubber manages internal resonances at the exciter assembly.
Secondary vibration isolation at instrument consoles, hydraulic brackets, and other mounting points is provided by part 3128047510 rubber isolator, completing the BOMAG vibration management system.
EU Directive 2002/44/EC & OSHA Guidelines: Both European and US guidelines recommend limiting operator whole-body vibration to 0.5 m/s² daily exposure. Worn BOMAG vibration dampers can cause actual cab vibration to double, potentially exceeding regulatory limits. Regular damper inspection and replacement is part of BOMAG maintenance compliance.
Cross-Reference Vibration Mounts
For mixed fleets, we also supply anti-vibration mounts cross-referenced for Caterpillar (227-0172, 358-0286), Case (55154977), and general OEM applications (20891618, 20891878).
